For the second leg of this year's New York tour, we're headed for Brooklyn, today's fount of international music and culture. If you get a chance to try any beer, sausages, or music from Brooklyn these days, you can't go wrong.

Lewiston, Maine Tuesday 7pm

We've returned from the first leg of our New York-Vermont tour with only a few scars and with many new friends. A warm welcome to them and many thanks to those who helped us along the way.

Special thanks to Will, Kevin, and the triple-A guy who helped us with a tire blow-out in the middle of nowhere, to Tony, Jim and the folks in Whitehall who helped us load in during a torrential thundershower, to Johnny III who played inflatable guitar along with us, and to Bruce Buckland who invented a soundpost setter when the bridge collapsed on Andy's bass. Big Kudos to Lissa Scneckenberger and her peeps who joined us at Caffe Lena, and put on a great show. Too many others to recount helped us make the tour a great success. Merci une mille fois!

. . . And in 2009, representing today’s generation of Acadian-Maineiacs and inspiring the populace to forget toil and care, comes Boreal Tordu, bringing life to the many influences of Maine's poignant past. Referring to their style as a French-American mélange, Boreal Tordu represents both cultures that have stamped themselves so picturesquely on the Maine that is such a popular destination today. More than a revival, their music represents the reinvention of a culture almost lost to a new generation. Whether playing original creations inspired by their ancestral roots, or the traditional songs passed down through their familial heritage, the result is a rhythmically unstoppable, lyrically fantastic blend of French-Canadian traditions with original Americana sensibilities.

Their 2006 release La Bonne Vie was called "an inspiration to the Franco-American community" by Dirty Linen Magazine, and has been heard on the PBS series Now with Bill Moyers. The band features fiddler/accordionist Steve Muise, and Acadian singer-songwriter and dobro player Rob Sylvain, known for his work in the band Douce with Matthew Doucet of Lafayette, Louisiana.
Rounding out the rhythm section is Pip Walter on guitar and backing vocals, and Andy Buckland on upright bass. Thrice nominated for the Portland Phoenix reader’s poll award for Best World Music Act, Boréal Tordu continues to innovate and abide in a genre by itself.
Whether it's the lively fiddling of an Acadian tune by Steve Muise, the humorous refrain of "Quelle belle vie . . . Ma femme est partie!" (What a beautiful life . . . My wife is gone!) by vocalist Rob Sylvain, or the nostalgic songs taught by a doting mémé (grandmother), the music of Boréal Tordu is a crowd-pleaser.

Le dernier jour à Cannes qui n'arrêté jamais

Moi et tout mes amis americans ont don nos mieux vêtements pour aller à la screening de notre film. Les hommes aux tuxedos et les femmes aux chauds, on était le toast du Cannes.

le sixéme jour - Ste. Paul de Vance

Hier midi mon vieux ami Edward a condui moi et ton compadre a les montagnes pour visiter le paradis. Tout en haut sur le mont située à côte de la mer est une ville des roches anciens qui s'appelé Sainte Paul de Vance. . Les mûrs tout le ronde se lève au moins 30 feet de le côte de le mont. Il y a une cloche de la 13eme siècle en centre. Il fait parfait et tout était belle et paix.

Beaucoup des artisans habite la et on a visité les amis d'Ed qui s'appellent Horst et Geisele. Ils viennent d'allemande et ils avaient une belle shoppe pour vendre ses liquours et huilles. J'ai essayé quelq'un au miel, au café, au chocolat et au quelquechose sublime. Horst acheter le dejuner pour tous et on a passé le bon après midi là.

Au retour, Ed me conduira a la Palais de Cannes et il a convincé les guards pour laisser moi passer a la market. J'ai recontree les autres et on a fini le jour avec Diner et puis crêpes avec quoi? Oui, beaucoup du vin.

le 5ème jour - Cannes

Incroyable, Le premier chose que je fait ai Cannes était pour recontrepar chance mon ami Edward Stencil qui je n'ai vu pas il y a dix ans. On a travaillé avec un film de mon frère et un documentarie à Kansas. Maintenant il achete et vend des films. Il nous a expliqué tout les mechaniques de la festival et mes Amis du Maine Ben et Mike sont partir pour schmoozer beaucoup à la market. Jennywren a pu gagner un press pass pour faire son blog et les autres ont marché tout la ronde au Cannes. Il fait chaud et j'ai oublié la crème soleil donc j'ai acheté un chapeau a la rue.

J'ai dormir a la plage pour des heures aprèsmidi. Tammy, vous avez le raison. Il était beacoup des boobies là. J'ai gagnes des fromages et pâtes pour le soirée et mes amis ont retourné de Cannes pour manger et boire du vin. On a bu a la plage et on rira tout passé la minuit.

Demain j'va aller avec Ed Stencil aux montagnes medevals

Le 4ème jour - le TGV

La matin une jolie fille qui s'appelle Veronique d'office de tourisme de Vatan a m'aider faire le réservation pour le train au sud de France. J'ai pris le train de Vierzon a le gare lyon pour prendre le TGV, un grand train que va plus que 200 mph. Encore, le voyage était plus que 5 heures a Cannes.

Le TGV est une bonne chemin pour faire un voyage. J'ai vu le grand diversity de pays. Il y a le pré, les plateaux, les montagnes, le désert. Il y a les châteaux anciens et les cities plein de graffiti.

J'ai retrouvé mes amis amercains a l'hôtel au Antibes. On reste a deux suites avec kitchenette etc. Ça marche bien. On a marché au restaurant dans une belle carrée et puis on a pris un drink sûr la balconie d'un restaurant et on peut voir l'océan jusque là. Il fait très beau est on a passé le bon temps en discuté nos adventures.

Demain, la festival Cannes.

le 3eme jour en continué de la matin

Le conference d'acadiens était très Interessant. Après beaucoup des présentations le fog est commencé lever. Je me souviens cette phenomonon de la troisième jour de l'immersion a québec. Il était beaucoup de discuté au sujet de la lange perdu a l'acadie. J'ai sens comme John Merrick avec tout les physicians en parlé ses disfigurements

Après des spectacle on a mange bien encore avec beaucoup encore du vin bien sûr. Et puis, j'irai chez Madeleine et Yves qui ouvres ses portes a moi pour la nuit. La matin j'ai marche avec Madeleine et son petit chien a la ronde de Vatan. Il fait beau et j'étais désole pour partir parce que tout les gens sont plein de bonheur là.

J'ai trouvé avec malheur que le film affichera lundi matin pas mardi mais chanceaux aussi jeudi soir. Je voudrais aller a Valençay mais je guess à la prochaine. Et donc, à Cannes!

le 3éme jour - Vatan

Vatan est un très jolie ville dans le coeur de Berry, le pays de mes ancestres. J'ai arrivé en voiture merci mon nouveau ami Laurent, pendant le fête rendezvous acadien de Vatan. Quelle surpris, le presenteur à l'étage etait Robert Arsenault de Moncton, NB qui a parlé avec moi au téléphone pour CBC radio l'été passé. Il y était un grand crowd là, tout interessé d'Acadie. On a mangé un très bon déjeuner trop grand pour décriver. Après midi, J'ai chanté quelques chansons Acadiennes est l'audience etais très genereuse. Le moderateur etait un bon host qui s'appelle Daniel Moulin. Il a arrangé pour tout que j'ai besoin.

Alors j'ai besoin aller au le train maintenant. Je va finish later.

le 2éme jour - Chateauroux

J'ai le train de Paris au Chateauroux heir matin. J'etais excité pour faire des conversations au train mais malheureusement j'ai dormir tout le chemin. J'ai trouvé quelque problèmes pour parler bien en français et j'avais le sens d'un homme qui s'ennuie tout les gens comme les questions stupides. C'est dommage être un orphelin!

Quand j'ai arrivé j'ai reconnu Mike de Joe from Maine et il m'a conduiré chez Laurent qui ouvre son maison à moi. Il est un bonhomme qui à present a adopté le pauvre orphelin. Nous avons passé les temps apès midi marcher circ Chateauroux, et il fait pluie encore mais pour jusque 10 minutes encore. On a vu un chose très etrange dans le rue qund un grand ligne des voitures, les luminières flashing, en pressé les horns en cacaphonie nous ont passé. C'était un fête du marriage, apparently c'est normal

Chateauroux est un ville en jonglé entre l'histoire vieux et l'histoire avant la Guerre du Monde II quqnd NATO a fait un airbase avec beaucoups des Americains, qui a porté un bons economié mais aussi quelques autre sentiments.

Le spectacle à Chez Joe from Maine a marché très bien. J'ai recontré mes cousins Mike et Annette, les enfents de Joe qu'il est mort il y a jusque un mois. J'ai chanté pour un maison plein des gens très sympa, et nous avons les bontemps. j'ai vendu quelques CDs et j'en boirai beaucoup de vin. Après des spectacle on marche au discothèque ou les jeunesse dancer et pendant j'ai bu le whiskey. Il y avait beacoup des artifacts de la Guerre, par example un luminière fabriqué d'un vieux torpedo.

Laurent éetait un host très sympa. Il va me conduire àa Vatan maintenant. Merci un mille fois Laurent! Laissez l'adventure continuer!

le premiere jour

Je peux voir qu'il serait dur pour trouver le temps for ecrire. J'avait l'intention d'erciire hier soir mais après beaucoup de vin, pis le jet lag j'ai dormi à mon iPhone. Maintenant je suis à Praris et Il y a beaucoup pour vous dire. Je reste avec une famille très genereuse et sympatique à Boulougne, jusque 5 minutes de Paris. Mais le premier chose en avance:

Mon voyage par avion etait très facile, merci Tom d'Air France qui me mette en first class. Est-ce que vous savez que les assiettes peut tomber comme un lit là? Mais le première chose qu'on fait: boire une verre de champagne. Incroyable. J'avais le plaisir to sit avec un bonnehomme qui viens d'Armenia, mais il ne parlera le français et il voulera practiquer l'anglais. J'ai reçu le bonne advice de mon ami Jacques qui viens de France. Il faut que dormir à l'avion pour combater le jet lag. 12 heures est compressé dans 6 heures;

Chut; je typer avec un ordinateur avec un keybord etrange; j'ai le meme macbook mais les lettres sont scrq?bled.

Customs etait un cinch, merci le bon dieu. J'ai trouvé un taxi à Boulonge, l'autre cote de Paris et J'avait doit lui donner 70 euro, plus que $100US parce que le trqffic etait mal. Le driver etait un homme qui viens de Cambodia et habite a France emais il parlera l'anglais bien. Il me dit que il a apprendre l'anglais en account de M. Johnny Mathis. Heueresment, j'ai arriver à le maison de Alain et Anne.

Mes hosts est le plus gracious est gentile. Ils avait deux enfents très genials et brillants, Antoine et Capucine. Les enfants m'aider apprendre le meiux chemin chanter les paroles d'un chanson de ma mémère, et Antoine m'a donné son chambre pour dormir. On amais plus à la ronde de la maison très belle.

Alors, j'ai voyagé au Paris. C'est un belle belle ville, très grande. J'ai quitté le Metro au le Champs-Élyssés pour marcher au le musée du louvre. Il a pluie mais juste 10 minutes dessus les arbres giants. Je peut voir le Louvre il y a un demi-heure en avance de m'arrivé là parce que il est plus plus grande. Along the way, j'ai visité plus des cafés, le première pour café, et puis le vin, et puis le café, et puis le cognac, et puis le café, et puis le vin. La fin, j'ai arrivé au louvre. C'est belle mais en fait, préfére le voyage plus que la déstination.

Cette soir, J'ai mangé lq diner avec mes nouvelles amis. On prendre des bons viandes d'un tit marche locale avec des patates nouvelles de Bretagne. Et puis, beaucoups des fromages avec le vin bordeux très bon. Puis, les framboises douce avec crème qui savez qui, et plus de vin bordex. Touts etait parfait, et je dors comme un roche. Merci encore Alain et Anne!

Maintenant, j'va a Chateauroux par le train. Au revoir!

Je suis en route au Logan et je pense de ma famille. Autour je m'ennuie de ma petite bébé qui va être toute grandi au retour du mon voyage. Merci Sue ma femme pour vos encouragements. T'es le Best! Dommage tu ne peut pas ce lire.

Je commence déjà penser en français. C'est scary parce que je suis plus q'un idiot en français. Oui le plus. Mais en fait je suis content être un idiot. Je m'en practiqué le phrase: "oui je peut parler le français mais comme un enfant de trois ans qui a grandi avec une famille des loups Acadiens". Il y a le sens d'un bête agreeable.

J'suis pas souci pour parler la langue. Je parle le français meilleur que George Bush peut parler l'anglais. Je suis un peu souci être simplement un gros American sans savoir faire. Mais tout le gens françaises qui j'ai connu aurait eu très genereuse et bien accomodating. Je suis sûr que cette journée sera pas l'exception. Allons-y!

J'ai un 'tit voyage à faire

C'est vrai. J'v'aller à France aujourd'hui. Incroyable. Je suis inquiet. Je peut pas dormir. J'ai beaucoup à faire toujours mais j'ai besoin prendre le temps pour reflection. Puis donc, voilà: Le blogspot. J'éspère que je pourrai écrire un peu chaque jour avec mon bon iPhon.

Je sais que beaucoup de mes amis ne parle pas le français, pis j'éspère qu'il y-en a qui voudra faire les traductions pis les corrections pis les reflections en comments là-bas, là, pour.. quoi.. pas.. toi?
